Job Details NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the General Services Department, County of Madera, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the County, will receive up to, but not later than 2:00:00 p.m., PDT, Wednesday, November 1, 2017, sealed bids for the award of a contract for: Project: Madera County Jail HVAC Replacement
PROJECT LOCATION: 14191 Road 28 Madera, CA 93638
MANDATORY PRE BID CONFERENCE: A mandatory pre-bid meeting has been scheduled October 18, 2017 @ 10:00 AM to review the Project’s existing conditions. The pre-bid meeting will take place at the project site located at 14191 Road 28, Madera, CA 93638.
Only those prime contractors attending the pre-bid conference shall be permitted to bid the work.
EXAMINATION OF SITE: Each bidder shall examine the site of work before bidding and shall be responsible for having acquired full knowledge of the job and of all problems affecting it. No variations or allowances from the contract sum will be made because of lack of
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Replacement of the existing heating, ventilating, and air conditioning system and localized Central Plant at the existing Old Jail originally built in 1988. The replacement air handler system in the upper level and roof areas of the housing units will
be connected to the existing Central Plant which will be expanded with new cooling towers, chillers, boilers, storage tanks, and distribution system to address the increased HVAC load of the old jail. Modifications will include replacement of VAVs and controls.
Architectural and structural construction involves construction of service chase and providing permanent access to the existing attic above the central corridor. Additionally, structural concrete wall for support of the proposed chillers will be built.
CONSTRUCTION COST ESTIMATE: $4,316,608
shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the appropriate classification(s) of
contractor’s license(s), for the work bid upon, and must maintain the license throughout the duration of the Contract.
